In anticipation of MLB’s All-Star Game at New York’s Citi Field, 35 huge, painted apples, representing MLB teams old and new, are appearing across NYC.
Above is a photo of the San Diego Padres apple, which I spotted in the bottom floor at the midtown Sony store.
Here’s a map of all 35 apple locations, and here’s information on a contest you can enter by posting a photo of an apple to Instagram with the hashtag #ASGapples.

LeBron James has been named to the NBA’s All-Defensive first team in each of the last five years. Will he pass the 11 players ahead of him and be the first to earn that nod more than nine times?
Among active players, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett have been selected All-Defensive first team a record nine times (along with Michael Jordan and Gary Payton), but Mamba and KG didn’t make either first or second All-Defensive teams this season. In his 14 seasons, Tim Duncan has never failed to make an All-Defensive team, being named to the first team eight times and second team six times, including this season.
