Wired’s Raw File photo blog talks with Tim Mantoani, whose new book, “Behind Photographs: Archiving Photographic Legends,” depicts photographers posing with their most famous images.

Mantoani made over 150 such images over the past five years, each using a 20x24 Polaroid format.

Pictured here are Jeff Widener (Tank Man in Tienanmen Square, 1989), Neil Leifer (Ali vs. Liston, 1965) and Karen Kuehn (Ballerina and Cat, 1993).
