Glenn Hall of the Chicago Blackhawks allows a goal on Nov. 27, 1966 vs. the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, in the first-ever game in which a camera was placed inside the net.

That concept was the idea of longtime New York Times photographer Barton Silverman. The Times shares much of Silverman’s classic Rangers photos as the Blue Shirts embark on an NHL Playoffs run with high expectations.
