Grand Central Terminal was a little crowded when I caught my train just after noon on Thanksgiving.
The New York Daily News takes a look at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade balloons through the decades. Man, they had some creepy stuff back in the day.
LIFE produced a collection of its 75 greatest photos, in anticipation of the magazine’s upcoming 75th anniversary.
A run through the familiar but still captivating images — from the horrors of war to the intimate side of celebrity to stunning landscapes — is a reminder of how important LIFE was in telling the story of the 20th century through images.
