Excellent WWE video memorial on the career of an Italian-American named Joe Scarpa, known to fans as Chief Jay Strongbow, showcasing a very different era of pro wrestling.
The New York Times has an obit on the man inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1994.
How have a I never seen this video of Hulk Hogan tearing apart Tim Tebow (and his jersey) on the set of SportsNation?
If this video game existed when I was a kid, I probably wouldn’t have left the house.
WWE 12 releases today, and IGN scores it a 9.0 (out of 10).
Best wishes to Regis. Here’s when the Ultimate Warrior stopped by the show and tore up the set!
If you’re like me and would rather watch old wrestling clips than do anything remotely productive, check out this all-time promo by my man Slick, who abuses Mean Gene Oklerlund repeatedly before a big match. “Chill out, Holmes!”
Just a couple of the amazing photos that accompany this article, originally published for Modern Drunkard magazine, on Andre the Giant, a legendary wrestler and drinker.
That’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s father, Rocky Johnson, on the right of the bottom pic.
Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka was never good with the microphone. Lord knows what he’s trying to say in this classic promo.
“Sgt. Slughter, you might be right, in your way. But you got to remember one thing, brother. I am not in your category as far as the army or the thinking and knowledge of your mind. This man has got totally a different knowledge and a totally different thinking according to the way you think. The only thinking that we gonna be doing, brother, is right inside there.”
Of course I had to bid on these unopened packs of WrestleMania III trading cards from 1987.

I live by one simple credo: A friend in need is a pest. That indisputable principle was imparted to me by Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, one of history’s great philosophers. Here’s an extensive list of his witticisms, ranging from Tito Santana’s lack of brains to the Rosatti sisters’ lack of looks. And how Kerry von Erich is the only man he knows who can hide his own Easter eggs.
Heenan also owns the top spot in WWE’s gallery of the 25 greatest managers in its history.

The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

I just learned Sgt. Slaughter has an IMDB page.

This was the most dedicated fan at the TNA wrestling gig at Coney Island last night. Never knew so many guys brought their own belts to wear around the event.
The garbage can lid was fresh off being smashed over Bubba Ray’s head by his former Dudley Boyz teammate Devon.

Just one day remains to bid on Mick Foley’s high school lacrosse jersey. The “Hardcore Legend” is selling a bunch of personal memorabilia in his continued effort to support RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual-violence organization.
Mick’s a good dude, but I imagine any potential buyer would want to have plenty of air freshener to accompany this piece.
